•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during her visit to districts, today chaired the administrative review meeting for the district of South 24 Parganas at the Bharat Sevashram Sangha Hospital auditorium at Pailan. She chaired the administrative review meeting in the presence of officials from Block-level to State Secretariat to take stock of development work in the district.

•  During her visit to the districts, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was at Paschim Medinipur district, where she was present in a government public distribution programme at Debra. Hundreds of new government schemes were launched and Government benefits were handed over to thousands of beneficiaries on the occasion. Earlier in the day, she chaired the Administrative Review Meeting of Birbhum district at Bolpur and took stock of progress of development work and reaching out benefits to common people in timely manner.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during her visit to districts, today chaired two administrative review meetings for the districts of Hooghly and Purba Bardhaman. She chaired the administrative review meeting for Hooghly district at Gurap in the presence of officials from Block-level to State Secretariat to take stock of development work in the district. Later she chaired administrative review meeting for Purba Bardhaman district at Guskara with the officials from Block-level to State Secretariat.

•  The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Chamling today called on Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Uttarkanya, the North Bengal Secretariat, in Siliguri. After the meeting, the Hon’ble Chief Ministers addressed the press. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that West Bengal and Sikkim being neighbouring States, must work together for development. She also stated that the State Government will extend invitation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim for the next edition of the Hill Business Summit.

•  In a statement issued by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee she said that West Bengal continues to be No.1 in the country in Ease of Doing Business. She stated that this is as per the latest announcement of the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Government of India. The Hon’ble Chief Minister stated that this was all due to the regular and extensive monitoring by the State Government, right from the grassroot level to the state secretariat level, to ensure that projects are implemented on time with minimum hassle.

•   Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present in the first Hill Business Summit in Darjeeling which concluded today on a very positive note. Hon'ble Chief Minter informed that in only two days of the summit, investment proposals worth nearly Rs 2000 Crore were received for new businesses in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik in food processing, tourism, hotel, dairy, aquarium, orchids, eco tourism, tea tourism, medicinal plants, handicrafts, agro-industries and other sectors including development at Matigara, the gateway to the hills. Hon'ble Chief Minsiter said that she was proud of the young generation of Darjeeling and expressed hope that the new initiatives would create numerous employment opportunities for them and bring more prosperity to the hills.

•  The Hill Business Summit, the first of its kind business meet in the hills, was inaugurated today in Darjeeling by Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She was present in the inauguration ceremony along with Ministers and officials of the state secretariat, GTA functionaries, captains of industry, representatives of chambers of commerce, industry and similar bodies, MLAs and distinguished guests and invitees. The Summit will extensively deliberate on tapping the immense business potential of the hills, particularly in tourism, tea, transport, IT, horticulture, food processing, handicrafts, flowers and orchids, medicinal plants, agriculture and related sectors and products, to boost the economy and create more employment and livelihood opportunities for the local people. The Hon’ble Chief Minister appealed to all to maintain peace to usher in prosperity and said that the Government is fully committed to extend all support.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present today in the inauguration ceremony of the new Garden Reach flyover. The 4-lane, 4.4 km long new flyover is a new feather in the cap of rapidly growing infrastructure in Kolkata and will significantly ease the longstanding problem of traffic congestion in the area. In addition to normal plan allocation, the Government is in the process of creating new infrastructure assets, which includes eight important flyovers connecting various parts of the city.

•   During her visit to the district of Purulia, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today attended a government public distribution programme at Shimulia. A large number of new government schemes were flagged off today that will give a big boost to ongoing development work in the district. Government benefits were also handed over to more than 30,000 beneficiaries on the occasion.
