•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today had a meeting with five senior doctors at Nabanna. The meeting was held to resolve the issues regarding the strike of the junior doctors at Government hospitals. She extended invitation of talks to the junior doctors on the next day at 5 pm.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present in the programme on unveiling bust of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in College Street today. Distinguished persons from different walks of life were present on the occasion. Later, this bust was placed in Vidyasagar College campus. She said that, on 14th May, in a political rally in College Street, the bust of Vidyasagar in Vidyasagar College was vandalised. She said that the damage so inflicted can never be repaired, but this was only a humble contribution towards restoration of at least a bit of the glory and heritage of Bengal that was shattered. She informed that the Government has taken decision of installing bronze statues of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Ashutosh Mukherjee, Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore shortly. She also announced the government’s decision of uplifting Vidyasagar College and placing a fund of Rs 1 Crore for this purpose and of sanctioning Rs 50 lakh for renovating the heritage portion of Ghatal Vidyasagar High School as well as declaration of heritage building and renovation of house of Vidyasagar and Birsingha Bhagabati Vidyalaya founded by Vidyasagar, in Birsingha village.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today chaired an State Level Administrative Review Meeting with the ministers and secretaries of various departments at Nabanna Sabhaghar. After the meeting she held a press conference. She said that the state government’s performance in the financial year 2017-18 was very good.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today set up a committee to monitor the implementation of state government run schemes. She announced this during a press conference at Nabanna today. The ‘grievance cell’ would be called ‘Monitoring of Programme Implementation’. A toll-free number has been announced, where anybody can call and lodge their grievances regarding state government run schemes. The number is 18000 345 8244.
