•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called on the Hon’ble President Of India during his visit to the city and sought his kind blessings for her second term in Government.
•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took oath as MLA at West Bengal Assembly.
•  Mamata Banerjee took oath as the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal for the second term today at a mass ceremony held at Red Road, Kolkata. Besides the Hon’ble Chief Minister, 41 Ministers took oath in the swearing-in ceremony. His Excellency the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Mr. Tshering Tobgay, His Excellency Minister of Industries, Bangladesh, Mr. Amir Hussai and Union Ministers, Arun Jaitley, Ashok Gajapathi Raju , Babul Supriyo, Hon’ble Chief Ministers Nitish Kumar (Bihar), Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi), Akhilesh Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), senior national leaders Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Kanimozhi, Thota Narasimham graced the occasion. Also present in the occasion were captains of industry, heads of several national and state media houses, dignitaries from the world of culture, sports, entertainment, eminent citizens, press and media, members of judiciary, armed forces, government officials and of course thousands and thousands of people from different walks of life.

•   The first Cabinet meeting of the new Government was held today at Nabanna, where the new Cabinet decided that it shall be the commitment and earnest endeavour of the new Government in the second term to carry forward the development agenda for West Bengal with greater pace, greater focus and greater outreach. The decisions were made so that Bengal becomes No.1 in the world in terms of peace, prosperity and happiness.
