•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a number of developmental projects on her visit to Sagar in South 24 Parganas today. She also distributed several benefits to the local people at a state Government programme. Hon’ble Chief Minister was accompanied by a group of industrialists from the state who were shown the opportunities in tourism industry at Sagar. She visited the virgin beaches in the area and named the three beaches as Rup Sagar, Bhor Sagar and Dheu Sagar.

•   The South Korean Ambassador to India, HE Mr Joon Gyu Lee paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat, Nabanna. Mr Lee was at the head of a three-member delegation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

•   A number of Tata Group CEOs and Heads called on Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna to discuss on several issues including their keenness on expanding projects in the State creating more employment opportunities. Hon’ble Finance and Industry, Minister Dr Amit Mitra was present at the meeting.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a programme at SSKM Hospital said that henceforth, all patients will receive free treatment, free diagnostics and free surgery in all government hospitals and health centres from village to district level in the State. All paying beds are now being converted as free beds. There will be no bed charges for patients, even in ICCU and Cabins of Government Hospitals upto District level. Thus, all the commoners including APL, BPL, SC, ST, OBC, Minority Community, will be benefitted. Already, the State Government is providing free medicines in OPDs and indoor patients in Government Hospitals. This decision will give nearly 76% people in Bengal who avail treatment in Government Hospitals a significant relief.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished the people of the State a sparkling and prosperous Deepavali.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated several new attractions at the Alipore Zoo, Kolkata. The new attractions include an open-air reptile house, an enclosure for 'lesser cats' etc. The Swarnamoyee House, which used to display birds of different varieties, has also been renovated and was declared open today. The age-old Mullick House inside the zoo complex has been renovated and will now serve as an Information Centre.

She took stock of the ongoing developmental projects going on in the 23 Jangalmahal blocks in the districts of Bankura, Purulia and Paschim Medinipur from the officials of the three districts.

•  A 24-hour control room has been opened at the state secretariat as Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reviewed the preparedness in view of Cyclone Hudhud that will hit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coastal areas on Sunday.The Chief Secretary of the State, other top administrative officials including top police officers and state Disaster Management Department officials were present in the review meeting held at Nabanna, the state secretariat.

•  Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at a Bijoya Sammelani function organised by the Kolkata Police and KMC at Town Hall. The programme was attended by spiritual leaders from all religions, state ministers and other noted personalities. The occasion was a testimony of the spirit of communal harmony in the State.
