•  The State Government wrote to Prime Minister's Office, protesting against stopping Sulabh Khadya Sasya Prakalpa that provides Rice at Rs.2/kg to the poor people.

There she laid the foundation stone of 4 projects like Dantan-II College, Common Facility Centre at Paschaim Medinipur, Kishan Mandi of Jhargram & Binpur-II of Paschaim Medinipur district and Sahid Matangini Women College, Concrete Bridge at Mayachar, Additional Building of Schools, 12 Piped Water Supply Projects, Development Digha beach, Renovation of Hijli Cannel, 4 bridges of Purba Medinipur district. At the same programme she inaugurated 4 Piped Water Supply Projects, 5 Girls Hostel of Paschim Medinipur district, another 10 Piped Water Supply Projects, 2nd Campus of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, Bridge over Ramnagar Cannel, Amdabad PHC of Purba Medinipur district. She also distributed some benefits to the local people. There she announced that one ITI will be set up at Belpahari of Paschim Medinipur district.

•  West Bengal Government entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pawan Hans Ltd in presence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister to provide helicopter services in the state.

•   Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started her three-day visit to Jangalmahal. She will reach Midnapore on Monday evening and will spend the night at the Jhargram Rajbari. An administrative meeting is going to be convened at the Jhargram Rajbari with the District Megistrates and District Officials in the evening.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a meeting with Panchayat Minister at West Bengal Assembly over the forthcoming Panchayat Election in the state.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present in a programme organized by Kolkata Municipal Corporation(KMC) at Town Hall. She handed over the Sister Nivedita`s house, taken over earlier by the State Government to Ramkrishna Sarada Mission.

•  On a surprise visit to a fair price medicine shop at the SSKM Hospital, the Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee initiated an inquiry into the allegations leveled against a section of doctors, reportedly prescribing medicines by brand names instead of their generic names. She convened meeting with the health officers of the state at Writers Building.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects at Chalsa in Jalpaiguri. On a three-day official tour in North Bengal, West Bengal Chief Minister addressed a public meeting at Meteli. She laid foundation stones like Metali ITI, 2 Irrigation Projects and inaugurated Mayanguri & Falakata Fire Service Stations. The Chief Minister gave away prizes to archers who participated in archery competition. Nearly 125-small scale projects are expected to come up soon under the National Fiber Mission which will open clusters in jute and bamboo across North Bengal. Apart from that there will be a plastic processing cluster in Rajganj. 241 small scale industries to come up which would create employment opportunities. Apart from that an industrial park to come up at Falakata shortly. Hon’ble Chief Minister distributed some benefits to the people. There will be three new super specialty hospitals at Jalpaiguri, Mal and Falakata. Cancer patients can avail of the free medicines at North Bengal Medical College.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished success to all the students who will be appearing for the Higher Secondary examinations this year.

•  West Bengal Government has planned to introduce reservation of seats for SCs, STs and OBCs in higher education, for which a bill would be introduced in the coming Budget session of the State Assembly, announced Hon’ble Chief Minister at Writers’ Buildings. In the cabinet meeting it was also approved that Paschim Banga Lok Pariseba Bill which will ensure proper and prompt services from government departments like issue of birth and death certificates, driving licenses, ration and BPL cards among others, will be introduced. 8th March, on the International Women's Day, a new scheme for girl child,‘Kanyashri Prokolpo’ would also be introduced. Hon’ble Chief Minister announced that the government would give scholarships of Rs 500 each year from class eight to ten to those girl children whose annual family income is Rs 50,000 or less. On completion of 18 years, the girls would be given a one-time sum of Rs 25,000.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made an announcement that the State Government is going to take an initiative to start fair-price medicine shop in the State. She mentioned that the State Government will introduce these centers at government hospitals for the first time. Initially, 24-fair-price medicine shops have already been opened at various locations across the State as medical colleges, State hospitals, district hospitals and some of the sub-divisional hospitals.
