•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present in the state-level celebration of International Day of the World’s Indigenous People and anniversary of Quit India Movement at Jhargram today. To take forward further the development activities by the State Government in Jhargram and create more opportunities in higher education for local youth, foundation stone of a new university at Jhargram was laid today. A bouquet of new schemes including 24 new government bus services connecting places in and around Jhargram were also flagged off today, which will give a huge boost to connectivity, healthcare, employment and overall development in the area. Outstanding achievers in various fields from among the tribal people were felicitated today by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. She said that she always have a very special place in her heart for people belonging to ST, SC, OBC, minority, general and other castes and communities. She said that the State Government has always worked with focussed attention for their overall development and would continue to do so in future for further betterment of their lives and livelihoods.
