•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the newly renovated forest bunglow at Jayanti. She also launched seven newly-built cottages at the Jayanti forest.

Kalimpong, Darjeeling
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on her third day of the visit to the Hills of the Darjeeling district, announced formation of a development board for the Mangar community residing in the state. She was also present at 4th Foundation Day Celebration of the Lepcha Development Board at Kalimpong. From now on, the Board will be known as West Bengal Mayal Lyang Lepcha Development Board, she informed. She also handed over to them a cheque of Rs.10 Crore for construction of houses for Lepcha families.

Kurseong, Darjeeling
•  On a 4-day visit to the Darjeeling district Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone for a world class Presidency University campus and the Dowhill Educational Hub in Kurseong. She also announced the upgradation of the Victoria and Dowhill Government Schools from ICSE (class 10) to ISC (class 12) and allotted a grant of Rs 2 crore to the two schools for repair and renovation.

•   On the invitation of the Tamang Development and Cultural Board, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present in their First Foundation Day Celebration in Kalimpong on September 15, 2015. The Tamang community conferred the title “Nalsang Dolma” (The Goddess of Light)on WB CM. On the occasion, the , Hon’ble Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs 10 crore to Tamang Board as first instalment for construction of 1000 houses.
