•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at Shahid Minar, Dhaka at midnight February 21, to pay her respectful homage on the International Mother Language Day. The ceremony to pay homage to the martyrs of Bhasha Andolan began right after 12 midnight. The President of Bangladesh HE Md Abdul Hamid and Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid a visit to Gana Bhaban to meet Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She attended a luncheon hosted in her honour by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh. During the meeting, bilateral issues were discussed. She invited the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh to visit West Bengal.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a business meet organised by India- Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Indian Chambers of Commerce, Kolkata. At the meeting, she urged the business communities of west Bengal and Bangladesh work together.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at Dhaka on a three-day visit to the country, an invitation extended to her by the Bangladesh Government to attend the ceremony of the International Mother Language Day. This is her first visit to Bangladesh as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. ‘Baithaki Bangla’ was the first engagement of the Hon’ble Chief Minister which was a platform for interaction between the luminaries of both the countries from the world of literature, drama, music. At this ‘meeting of minds’ the Hon’ble Chief Minister proposed a series of steps to cement the cultural bond between her state and Bangladesh, including the construction of a “Bangabandhu Bhaban”in Kolkata, a building to be named after the nation’s founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called upon H. E. Md Abdul Hamid, the Hon’ble President of Republic of Bangladesh. Their discussion centered on issues to further strengthen the cordial and strong bonding existing between Bangladesh and West Bengal.

•   Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid a visit to the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmandi to pay her homage to Banga Bandhu Shekh Mujibar Rahaman, the first Prime Minister of Prime Minister in independent Bangladesh and the chief architect of the independent Bangladesh.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting at Lodhurka in Hura, at Purulia. She inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stone for the widening project of a road that connects Bankura and Purulia.

Rampurhat, Birbhum
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and laid foundation stones of a slew of projects for Birbhum district at Rampurhat. The Hon’ble Chief Minister distributed different grants, scholarships and loans like Kanyashree, Sikhsashree, Kisan Credit Cards, machineries for farmers etc.

Bardhaman
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated “Mati Tirtha Krishi Katha”, a unique centre being set up permanently in Bardhaman, to create more awareness and facilitate farming, fisheries, animal husbandry, horticulture, floriculture and other soil-based activities.
