•  The celebration of Netaji’s 118th birthday was held at Darjeeling for the first time in presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. This was the fouth day of the North Bengal visit by the Chief Minister.

•  On the 3rd day of her North Bengal visit, in a programme organized by the Ramkrishna Mission, the Nivedita Educational & Cultural Institute was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She was also present at a prize distribution ceremony at Lebong Stadium in Darjeeling.

Siliguri, Darjeeling
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today began her 4-day North Bengal tour. On reaching Siliguri she inaugurated Uttar Kanya, the first-ever Branch Secretariat of West Bengal Government in North Bengal. The Chief Minister inaugurated several projects for the progress of North Bengal and laid the foundation of various new development initiatives for the region.

•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the third edition of the five-day Uttar Banga Utsav at the Kanchanjungha stadium in Siliguri. The Chief Minister felicitated seven personalities of the six districts in North Bengal with ‘Banga Samman’for their contribution to the region in various fields.

Amlasole , Paschim Medinipur
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on a two-day visit to Paschim Medinipur, visited Amlasole, which had long been marked by acute neglect, abject poverty, deprivation, Left Wing Extremism and backwardness. She became the first Chief Minister of the State to visit this village, which was in news 10 years back because of death due to starvation. She laid bricks to start construction of Kankrajhore to Amlasole road to make it a ‘pucca’ all-weather road, connecting the remote village of Amlasole to the nearest concrete road.
