•  Thousands of school students took the Nirmal Bangla Pledge along with the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Krishnanagar, Nadia at the State-level programme of “Mission Nirmal Bangla”. The Hon’ble Chief Minister thanked people from all sections of the society for making Nadia the first open-defecation free district in India..

•  The Hon’ble Chief Minister was present at a public meeting at Nabadwip in Nadia district where she inaugurated numerous developmental projects for the district. She praised the district administration for successfully making Nadia the No. 1 district in household sanitation programme under ‘Mission Nirmal Bangla’. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee chaired a meeting with the administrative officials of the Nadia district to take stock of the progress of various developmental works, during her visit to the district.

Naxalbari, Darjeeling
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached North Bengal to take stock of damages caused by earthquake. She visited families of earthquake victims at Naxalbari in Siliguri and Mirik. Later, she went to the hospital in Siliguri where many people are admitted with earthquake injuries and trauma. Hon’ble Chief Minister informed that the State Government is providing all support and will take total care.

•  On her three-day visit to North Bengal Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the newly-formed district, Alipurduar and attended a Government programme. The Hon’ble Chief Minister conducted the first administrative meeting of the Alipurduar district with the district officials.
