Mati Utsab - 2015
•  West Bengal has been observing “Mati Utsab’ – the Festival of Soils, since 2012. The third edition of this unique programme connecting soils with humanity, was inaugurated at Panagarh, Burdwan, by Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Bengal’s rich culture, heritage, social and economic strengths connecting to the soil was showcased through “Mati Utsav”.

39th International Kolkata Book Fair - 2015
•  The 39th International Kolkata Book Fair 2015 was inaugurated at the SBI Auditorium, Milan Mela Prangan, Kolkata by British journalist Anita Anand and Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The focal theme of this year’s International Kolkata Book Fair is Great Britain. Rob Lynes, Director, British Council India and litterateur Nemai Bhattacharyya were the special guests at the inaugural ceremony. metro city in the next 2-3 months and facility will be available at Park Street from February 5.

Celebration of the 66th Republic Day
•  On the occasion of the 66th Republic Day of India, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged the people of the Nation to again rededicate to being a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic. In a colourful programme held at Red Road in Kolkata, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal hoisted the National Flag and presided over the march past of armed and police forces, in presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

119th birthday celebration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose
•  The 119th birthday of the National Hero, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated with due honour and reverence all over the state. The state-level celebration of Netaji's birthday was held at the Mall in Darjeeling, where Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid tribute. Since last year, the Government has been observing this programme at Darjeeling considering Netaji's deep connection with the Hills. A very colourful cultural programme was held by people belonging to the Sherpa and Lepcha communities.

First anniversary of the Tamang Development and Cultural Board - 2015
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at the celebration of the first anniversary of the Tamang Development and Cultural Board, which the Government had set up in January last year. The New Year celebration ‘Lochaar’ was also held. The vibrant programme was observed colourful through cultural events along with the famous traditional Tamang dance, "Dumphoo".

Himal Terai Dooars Sports Festival - 2015
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at the closing ceremony and prize distribution program in Himal Terai Dooars Sports Festival. Nearly 7000 sportspersons from the Hills and Dooars took part in football, martial art, archery and volleyball. One girl’s hostel of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was also inaugurated for women mountaineers by the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Uttarbanga Utsab - 2015
•  The week-long 'Uttarbanga Utsab', 2015 was inaugurated at Kanchenjunga Stadium, Siliguri by Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Eminent personalities from different sectors of society were conferred with ‘Banga Ratna’ award by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, in this programme. This festival was started in 2012 to give the cultural and traditional heritage of North Bengal a special focus.

19th Jatra Utsab - 2015
•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the 19th edition of the Jatra Utsab at Kacchari Maidan in Barasat, North 24 Parganas.
